Carrier Oils Used in Our Natural Skin Care Products:

One or more carrier oils are used in almost all Lonesome Sage Natural Skin Care Products.  They are base oils used to dilute and/or enhance the lotions and creams.  Most carrier oils usually do not contain a concentrated aroma of their own, nor do they evaporate like essential oils which are more volatile.  Carrier oils may be used to make herbal infusions by adding herbs directly to the oils for a period of time to absorb the specific herbal properties into the oil.  They also may be used to help ‘carry’ other ingredients to your skin and also provide moisture and protection to your skin.

IMPORTANT NOTE:  Lonesome Sage does NOT make or use products containing mineral oil.  Both mineral oil and petroleum jelly are by-products of petroleum production and are not natural or botanical in origin.  Mineral oil sits on top of your skin & does not absorb well.  It can clog pores, prevent skin from breathing naturally, prevents essential oil absorption, and prevents toxins from leaving the body through the natural process of sweating.

Herbs and Natural Plants Used in Our Loose Leaf Teas and Skin Care:

People have been using Mother Nature’s plants and herbs to heal and strengthen our bodies since time immemorial.  The properties of individual plants and their uses have been documented, told and retold over the centuries.  Many have also been scientifically researched. Many modern, lab-created medicines are based on the components of known medicinal plants in an effort to replicate, intensify and control these pharmaceutical products.  The one major difference between laboratory-created chemicals/medicines and those derived directly from natural plants is the notable level of side effects resulting from the use of non-natural chemicals.  Naturally, some plants also have strong effects on the body if not used properly.  However, when used properly, you will discover that the human body naturally assimilates plant-based foods and medicines while fighting or reacting to lab-created foods and chemicals which cause many of the negative side-effects associated with man-made chemical products and medicines.  The body is designed to efficiently absorb and utilize the healing benefits of natural foods and medicines from Mother Nature…just as the body is designed to reject unknown or unnatural bodies introduced for consumption or medicinal uses.  Like to Like.  Nature to Nature.
